Publisher's summary

The truth is that youth anxiety, stress, burnout, comparison, injuries, perfectionism, and identity disturbance are at all-time highs. Our shortsightedness as leaders is killing the confidence and long-term success of our youth.

In the book The Youth Truth, Andrew starts by sharing the shocking and scary realities facing our student-athletes today. He then dives deep into solutions: love-powered leadership and mind-set performance coaching. When these two things are prioritized and implemented by coaches and parents - who are both humble and hungry to ignite change - the result is a new truth for our youth.

Together, we can change the youth sports industry. Together, we can change generations. Together, we can change families and team cultures, and we can create champions both on and off the field. The Youth Truth will equip coaches and parents with the tools they need to gain more influence, develop stronger connections with the youth, and the ability to motivate and inspire our student-athletes more profoundly than ever before.

Christian Coaching Book

Leans too heavily on his Christianity for my taste. All his points could be made without scripture.

Too much Church

I’m a person of faith and I do love hearing the testimonies of other people however, I don’t like hearing them hidden in a way that they trap you into listening to them. I wanted to hear about coaching youth athletes in sports psychology, not a testimony any other opportunity. I would’ve been glad to hear it, but this is not what I paid for

Love it!

Great words of wisdom from the author! He does connect to Jesus but IMO that shouldn’t be issue for anyone. Actionable steps you can do immediately.

WOW

As a black, queer, woman, educator and coach, I really took a lot away from this book. I would recommend anyone working with youth to take the time and strengthen their leadership skill provided from Andrew’s teaching and reflections. Definitely going to use it with players, parents and students.
