The single biggest shift in content marketing over the last 12 months is... Sharing Information and your knowledge (even if it's brilliant) isn't enough anymore. Not if you want to build a genuine relationship with your audience. You can share the best thought leadership and insights, but if you don't "care", no one else will either. They'll nod their head, just like they do with all the other hundreds of insightful and knowledge-filled posts they see each day, lump you in the same category, and scroll on by. If you don't layer your thought leadership and "expert advice" with genuine empathy your marketing is probably falling on deaf ears. And it's not just about "saying" the right things either. It about ACTUALLY caring. The days of people being able to "front" on social media are numbered. The average consumer is way savvier. Their BS detectors are so finely attuned. And with so much knowledge out there flooding the marketplace, who's to say yours is better? That's not what's going to form the bond between your brand and your customer. But actually standing for something, and truly caring about them, is. Thoughts? Love to hear yours below. #MondayVideoTip #thoughtleadership #contentstrategy #contentconnection
Thought leadership all the way baby ❤️❤️❤️
Rightly said! I loved the line, "Their BS detectors are so finely attuned." So, true. I feel, empathy is often misunderstood and only a few people get it right.
The other trend I’m seeing is everyone saying to be careful of all the dodgy operators out there while framing themselves as models of trust and integrity. I see 2-3 of these daily
There is a 'no' in noise.
Hi Nina, care lead to authenticity wich is essential to building relationships. I am on board

2y💯 How boring are the hundreds of cookie cutter posts each day - generic causes and rhetoric to put your name out there. True success comes with insight, empathy and genuine care. If you have it, the expression is natural and the response is amazing. So many of my former clients and customers are still close friends. That comes from being respected and respectful. Fewer businesses and professional relationships seem to have these great relationships today because the world has become too shallow.
